  1. Fabulous Phoenix 4th


For over 30 years, the Fabulous Phoenix 4th has featured one of the largest fireworks displays in the entire southwest. The non-alcoholic, rain-or-shine event attracts over 100,000 spectators to Steele Indian School Park every year.

In addition to the spectacular fireworks show, patrons can enjoy two performances stages, festival-style food and drinks, interactive exhibits, arts and crafts stations, and a classic car display.

There’s also plenty for youngsters to do in the popular Kids’ World, which includes the water spray zone, rides and inflatables, and various other youth activities.

  1. Tempe Town Lake Festival


The Tempe Town Lake Festival has evolved into one of the most popular Fourth of July spots in the entire Valley.  The Family Fun Fest offers a free inflatable village featuring a variety of rock climbing walls and rides for children of all ages.

After you’ve worked up an appetite, you can head to the massive food court, which includes traditional BBQ fare alongside fry bread, roasted corn, snow cones and ice cream. Adults can wash it all down with a libation from the Beverage Gardens.

The highlight of the event is undoubtedly the fireworks show. Launched from the Mill Avenue Bridge, the massive display is choreographed to music from several genres, including pop, patriotic and country.

  1. 4th of Zooly

fourth of july eventsThe “4th of Zooly” promises an All-American celebration the entire family can enjoy. The even begins with a catered BBQ dinner at the Phoenix Zoo’s lakeside lawn. The meal includes traditional favorites, such as baked beans, potato salad, cookies and lemonade.

After you chow down, you can chill out with free carousel rides and access to the zoo’s Stingray Bay. Other entertainment options include special animal encounters, an inflatable bounce house and slide, as well as live music.

The evening’s festivities wrap up with a special viewing of the Tempe Town Lake Fireworks Spectacular from seating in the back of the zoo.

  1. All-American Festival – Peoria

fourth of july eventsYou can celebrate Independence Day at the ballpark at the All-American Festival in Peoria. Most of the activities will take place inside the main stadium at the Peoria Sports Complex, which serves as the spring training home for the Seattle Mariners and San Diego Padres. However, the water zone for kids will be located at other fields adjacent to the main facility.

Other activities include live music, a cornhole tournament, and food eating contests. Food and beer concessions will also be available throughout the stadium.

The night is capped off with the “most colorful” fireworks you’ll find in the Valley.

  1. Fourth at the Fountain

fourth of july eventsThe Fourth at the Fountain event provides perhaps the most picturesque place to catch a fireworks show in the entire state. The festival takes place at the famous Fountain Park in Fountain Hills. Just some of the entertainment options available include live music, bounce houses and rock climbing. You can also cool off with frozen lemonade, Italian ice and other chilled treats.

The festivities wrap up with a majestic fireworks show directly over Fountain Lake.
